WHY DID YOU JOIN THE SALSA CLASS?

At salsa classes one sees a wide variety of persons and personalities.... school kids (yes , one came in her school uniform last week) to senior executives , housewifes to Doctors (5 in my class!, yet only I am called Doc!), fat and thin , gracefull and plain bumbly...
I like to talk to people , and the main question I have is .... why did you join the class .. i mean , whats the motivation , was there an old desire , is there a turning point?
So , let it all out here .. matbe Ill convince Anand and Kainath to give this weeks prize mug to the best answer.

I joined salsa class because dancing is my passion and I love to learn different forms of dance. I am already familiar with a variety of dance forms but I have got to say...so far salsa has been the most enjoyable for me
You also get to socialise and make new friends through salsa class..and that is a bonus!

Lastly, I have got to mention that I do not live in Mumbai...but come and visit every year..and Anand Majumdar's classes have given me the felxibility to come and learn any time I am here

as the doc said that he saw school ids in the class but doc i'm a college guy and i joined salsa classes because, once i saw a salsa video which was sent to me by one of my friend and after that i became a fan of salsa and so i joined the classes to learn but believe me i also made new friends just by learning salsa...

My sister and my cousin brother were talking about Salsa in the year 2004. They did not join (or even enquired anywhere), and I joined at QS.

Before joining QS I did not dance anything ever, not even in parties, discos or marriage events. I took long time to learn the basics.

Initially I was doing just to enjoy the weekend, but later I became addicted to it!

Hi all, I was a bit hesitant to join because I am a 'senior citizen' but I am an adventrous soul. My daughter is away in Pune dong her final year law so I am free to do things I dreamt of doing_paragliding, river rafting, trekking. Initially salsa was just one of those things on my to-do - before I die list but I could not believe how bad I was at it. I get dizzy , never worn heels, cant tell left from right (its a medical condition :-) etc, now I am determined to be at least a ok dancer and all the teachers have been so patient. My husband keeps threatening to come and watch but I want to become a bit better before I let him see me tottering around the class. I will overcome. Everyone has been so kind helping me with tips. Heartfelt thanks everyone.

Initailly i joined the salsa classes to kill my weekend time,but now i am enjoying it.I had never danced in my life except on company party after having one glass of beer

so my friends are shocked 2 kn that i hav joined salsa classes.According to me its one of the good classes to learn salsa where u can take as much time to learn ,people out there are good and anand is one of the cool instructor.

im glad that people are finally coming out with their stories ... surely theres a lot more where that came from!

And Shivani , whats this about 'senior citizen' ? I think salseros and salseras are ageless and timeless

well, 3 yrs back when i was new to mumbai,i came to knw there is something called salsa, and i some how manage to get anands no, i called him and ask. sir can i assist u!.he said no! first u have to learn then only u can assist me,at that point of time i got upset bcoz iwas not earning,but now i m part of quickstep,and i love to b part of anand,and i m enjoying a lot.

i think i joined salsa for the heck of it...no no really....i joined it coz ppl told me i couldnt do salsa...there is a lot to do in it..you will get tired..and ur feet will hurt..blah blah blah blah...so to prove them all wrong(i kno..i kno i dont have to prove anything to anyone!!)..and to prove to myself that i can dance if i am so inclined..i joined...and now i love it...i accept that i have to learn a lot and practice a lot..but m ready to put in the hard work required....i generally am all over the floor when i dance but the instructors and other dancers are very patient...am glad that i enjoy my time at salsa...and doc u r right..there is no age limit for dancing .... wheeeeeeeeeeee!!

While Salsa is for the ageless , it does make you feel younger... except when someone calls you 'Uncle'

i joined salsa coz i think it's realli cool.. i mean most people do stuff like karate and stuff.. this was sumthin different and it really grabs peoples attention..

no not an engg...but i teach MBA's if that helps there is an engg , a teacher, a doc in the same class same session...names given by doc ...so was trying to make him rem...

hmm i guess salsa was one of the things on my list of "to do things before i turn 100" and i just wanted to get a headstart.

i joined d clases coz i saw a movie on salsa nd ws really inpressed by d dance.......


nd also coz my 76 knws d dance........

Thanks doc!! for the warm welcome. btw just out of curiosity is there a compliment in there or is it once again my presumptious nature taking centre stage (and if it is lets just keep it between the two, dont want to become a legend for getting my foot into my mouth)
