great class !!!
Today Anand took the best class ever ... something thats been elusive since a long time ... a theory lecture on Salsa ! I mean , Im a methodical guy , and I long wanted to know about the history , types of dance , how to recognise the music ,and the basic structure of this dance form. Really enjoyed this one. As Confucious said ' give a man fish and he will have a meal , teach him how to fish , and he'll never go hungry again' I think once we 'get' salsa and internalise it , the sky's the limit ... till then its just a bunch of PT exercises done twice a week!

Re: great class !!!
Hi Anand,
One Word WOOOOOOOW this info was fruitfull and will nourish withinn us. It was just like eating a magical meal, which hence forth will not make us strave(douth about footwork)....Hey but this does not means that now we dont need more meals from you. This dish(meal, umm knowledge) was of one flavour and there are many more special recipe's with you Anand ,which you will have to feed us.
v.simple method you used to explain and what was more efficent is you made the mirrors a board wherein the minute details of footwork you wrote on it, which now will be registered in our minds coz...whatever we see gets registered much better than what we hear.
Thanks
Kai

Its Working...
Hieee Anand,
The basic knowledge which you gave us yesturday Anand, its really started working on me. Its like now we are aware of the numbering of the footworks eg. umm ur tasty dish of 1-3-6 is the Right leg of the girl and 2-5-7 is the Left leg of the girl on the counts.
Today in the class almost 50% I was stepping on the right footwork when Jigs was counting.. as compared to earlier classes.
Its a feeling like wish you had to explain us this on the first day of our class, but its never to late to catch on.
Students of Quickstep should register on this forum coz they dont know what they are missing out on, this is a place wherein it helps a person grow his or her personality in Salsa.
I believe "Salsa Dance Especially" is not just learning and dancing in parties, disco etc.
Its a kind of skill which grows within us, just like an old wine taste more good compared to a fresh wine, so do we become more gracefull by time.
If the students of Quickstep have ever noticed old age married couples dancing Waltz or Foxtrot there is a kind of understanding a soft touch in their moves.
This is a place wherein everyone can clear out their douths, debate on topics, watch videos, download different music and can also come up with creative ideas.....If the students are not a part of this forum then they really missing out on loads of fun.......

Re: great class !!!
Hi Samird,
Yes I attain to classes at Bandra and Andheri also, as I am on a short visit to mumbai coz from past few months I have decided to stay in Hyderabad coz its a wonderful city.
Everysong let it even be marathi has 8 bars in it, salsa can really fit very well in bollywood numbers but the girls will have to add a few curvy moves to their dance for it to match the bollywood style. for example if the guys leads the girl for a cbl, a girl can simply take the "5" step and add a curvy move and come back than taking the entire lead for cbl. but then it becomes our bollywood masala.
Salsa dance can be very well chorographed on hindi numbers and loads of passion, chemistry can be shown.
But the music which QuickStep Studio has, after dancing on that you will not want to dance salsa on a hindi number, atleast for me coz Quickstep salsa music's are Rocking and are filled with enegry.
