Re: Street Style Salsa
tanny,
salsa doesnt really have a separate street style. in fact the style has come from dances which were informally practiced in cuban villages and stayed informal. it never really went to the ballrooms. in fact i think salsa was very happy being where it was always.
the one style of dance which i think there is a huge difference in the "Street" version and the distilled version is the samba. its one of the five latin ballroom dances and more subdued in the ballroom. but the street style is very vibrant. colorful costumes, intricate headgear, more racy and bounce to it, dance usually during the carnivals in brazil. very very different in style. but salsa is more or less the same
one of the styles of the carribean which is very street is the "afro-cuban rumba".. do some research on it.
