Good Days and Bad Days

Hi guys,

danced a couple of days ago. did horribly. i have found that on some days i dance really well and on other days no matter what i do i dance really badly.. i couldnt understand it earlier but now have come around to accepting it.. it does happen.. fell dissappointed about it but let it go..will try to do better tomorrow

yes, i guess its all on the mood you are on that day.. and mostly it happens with everyone..

and talking about you.. its a common observation that you generally are in a better mood when you meet some old friend or he/she (mostly she ) attends class after a long time...

actually not quite that way ... sometimes i dance well even when in a bad mood.. surprising but true..

but i had to lower my salsa rating because of my last session on the floor

Good Days and Bad days in dancing God I face this everytime. and it really bugs you when you know you could have done better.

This recollects me of my audition in London 2007 for the 9th Asian Women Flim Festival Award. I was too bad, but since I was the only participant from India Mumbai they selected me for the semi-finals but told me I will have to change my choice of song I gave audition for, coz some other participant was much better than me and gave me just a weeks time in the strange city,but atlast I reached to the finals,coz they thought I had given my best shot among all the other participants and that feeling was amazing,coz I was just beinging myself and flowing with the music.

Thats nice Anand so now even we can keep a track of your Salsa Moves......... just kidding

i think thats being VERY harsh on yourself.. you are a very good dance partner.. and you do well 95% of the times.. so stop being so critical of yourself

Well, It is like work, some day you very efficient and some days you are really down, and you feel as if the nature is against you.., and in dancing you have to really luv it and not let any emotion interfere.. or slightest disruptive thought which will not allow you to focus, the disruption can be keenly observed in dancing action. Though dancing is fun to watch, it needs high amount of concentration and enthusiasm (keeps your energy level high) by the dancers. Though Iam begginner , I would relate the good days and bad days to concentration and emotion levels.

Aha..this topic reminds me of my first solo Kathak performance..the best day of my life..but it was on the verge of becoming the worst day as I went totally blank for a second or two on the stage..but with some presence of mind (thank God) I managed to complete my performance very well..And I was amazed to know that no one in the audience got the slightest of hint that something went wrong...except my guru..
But at the end of the day..its the most memorable day of my life as I got compliments and appreciation for my performance.

Well coming to salsa..all I can say..that Im unpredictable... At times I make so many blunder (blunder queen..lol) otherwise everything goes well on other days..and I get to hear-'kya baat hai aaj' lolzz
But I believe with each bad experience one gets a chance to improvise..Damn I have to improve a lot!

If you self lead you are at fault as the poor chap will never learn to dance, or is it that you are natural leader, and hence always lead?? ]

Bad scenarios:

1. There are more number of guys than girls, on the dance floor.
2. Being extra confident with the girl who dances well and making blunders. i.e. not leading her properly.
3. Getting to dance with girlS who can't follow some intermediate or advanced leads (embarrassment to both!)
4. Not getting change to dance with the girl you like (after wait of several hours )
5. Disliking (even detesting) the music being played, or not being able to 'follow' the track!

good day was when i successfully completed my tunnel

bad scenarios : i think that i am not a good dancer as while dancing i tend to be little robotic and manytimes i can't do well specially when i get a tall partner(which i get the most)

i too seem 2 b havin problems wid tunnel, even though im really short... good day will b the day i dont screw up wen dancing wid anand and jiggy, whose leads can never B wrong ..

i can, and am, also wrong many times.. but i try to cover up quickly

wen u are wrong only you know .. u'd probably do another move instead of wht u intended to do .. i've got to follow ur leads correctly .. thats wen my day will b good !

Good Days, Bad days..........

My first day was good - I was learning everything fast...........

My second day was bad.. - I forgot the basic step.... huh.........

Now a days i am doing fine with only 9 out of 10 girls complaining.,,,, lol

hmmm.....i still havn't had a good day with salsa....I HATE it when I miss a lead ...the day I follow ALL the leads perfectly will be a good day for me.

Do it with a beginner like me.. u will never miss it. cos u will be leading me.... lets try this Sunday... he he eh

Well i dont care too much - i just try to enjoy - i guess when i know the moves and the steps. I suspect they will become like reflex actions. Forgive me for using an analogy - no disresepct meant - iused to be a rookie car driver till i went to live in Jo'berg in South Africa. We all had to undergo a course in defensive driving something unique which was necessiated due to the fast , rash and negligent driving in and around jo'beg. Firt i hated it then i learn teh motions and then it just happened. Similarly as the days pass and i am still level 1 beginner i can feel the motions turning reflexive but wait -- when that happens there is a snese of joy one of joy from motion not from doing it right!! i hope you all understand what i am feeling as well as talking off...

my good day rt now is when i get the routine right with proper leading and me properly following..atleast once...if i dont get the routine even once during a session..thats my bad day ...
yea yea i dont expect much..bt atleast i know m capable of much more!!

My good day would be ... when my Boxing Teacher (Varsha) Says that i lead her the right way and she enjoyed my lead.....
God.... in the last class she irritated me a lot........
saying that myne was the worst lead and she even punched me thrice........
Is there any NGO who fights for innocent guys under harassment?

trust a man to equate everything down to a "car" like the way you just did with your driving example or for instance anand who never fails to compare the women's dancing skills with a variety of car models...

ha ha ha.... i still remember BMW.....
