Should there be a paid section where people could advertise ?
Paid Section ? Advertising ?
dear all,
have got queries from ppl/other instructors wanting to advertise on our forum. this could be about salsa of even other stuff..
so was wondering if it makes sense to have a "Paid" section where ppl can advertise/surrogate advertise their stuff officially and pay the forum..
i am against the idea but i still thought i would take the forums opinion..

Anand,
Case to case Basis may be allowed..
but a group discussion is a must in case like this looking at the various interests,
other than commercial..
Cheers

A case to case basis is a good idea, reason being..per say its a cash flow stream, and you can still control what gets advertised on your site.

Andy if you know someone is trying to promote, sell, surrogate advertise their stuff and its not for the benfits for the QuickStep members then for sure u shall make that post a paid one.
keep a different Section for such post, even if a member wants to promote or inquire regarding stuff not related to Salsa and u think its not gona benfit the community then rely the sender and tell him he will have to pay a charge if he wants that post to be on the forum, so before any topic coming up on that Paid Section it should first come for approval before going on the web page, if u can figure out that way, it would be gr8.

Re: Paid Section ? Advertising ?
As long as advertising does not clutter the flow of forum, it's perfectly okay!
Flash animations on top or right side that expand when mouse is over them (or even automatically), are annoying and should not be part of 'Advertising' on our forum.
People, more ads means more hits on our site - more and more people are visiting us. We are getting famous. Ads will eventually enchance the features and appearance of QS forum.
