Hi Tarun,
that's a good question...

i would say that don't rate yourself in comparison with others, but rate yourself according to your own growth level. how you were when u first started out and now where you have reached...i also believe that nobody can be a 10/10 because there is always room for growth; it is a never ending process.

and ofcourse the 5 points that Jayesh pointed out above, factor into how you would rate your improvement.

cheers

hi all,

interesting question posed here..with interesting answers.. i would like to answer it too

in one of the tales of hindu mythology a sage was once teaching his disciples. He said..

" One who doesn't know and doesn't know that he doesn't know..is ignorant..
One who doesn't know but knows that he doesn't know.. is a student..teach him..
One who knows but doesn't know that he knows.. is a genius..
One who knows and knows that he knows.. is a master..follow him.. "

Not knowing something but knowing that you don't know that something, is a good place to be in.. it means you have developed the humility to accept that you don't know and to learn that something.. that in itself is a big win towards skill enhancement..

and of course when you know something and know that you know that something......you wont need to ask Smile

I hope my answer has been meaningful..

anand

PS : Of course in our mumbai salsa scene, there a 5th type of person too.. "One who knows little but behaves (and actually believes!) that he knows a lot.." ... we have all met such ppl around us am sure.. Wonder what the sage would do with them..
