Attendance at salsa nights

Hi guys,

I just wanted to express my dissapointment at the attendance at salsa nights. I am seeing fewer and fewer people coming to the salsa nights. Anand very kindly organises these nights just for his students to come and dance and practice and have fun.

I'm sure all of you know that just dancing in class is not enough. If you want to grow as dancers, you have to make an effort to go out and dance in clubs and salsa parties. Please...i request all of you to come to the salsa nights...its a GREAT opportunity for all of you...don't miss out on it!! And its only once a week...i'm sure you can spare that much time to enhance your salsa skills....can't you??

i think many ppl have an issue with paying the cover charge..

i guess the club has some justification, cause they have cost like electricity, rent, staff cost, security, DJ, raw material cost and other overheads and cant really sustain if ppl come in and use the place, dance for free and dont buy anything.. they really have no reason to give us the place.. i wish more ppl would understand that.

Many such salsa places in the past have succumbed to the fact that ppl dont want to pay - they just want it free. and these salsa places have shut down. Some clubs would turn off the airconditioning to give the ppl a signal to "GET OUT!" - it was shameful i tell you.. i guess we just continue the way things are - if ppl come great, if they dont then i guess we could just stop the nights.

anyways as an organiser i get nothing out of it, except for giving my students an opportunity to dance - whether they wish to take it or not is i guess their decision

the other reason i think is that the place could be far for south bombay - but then again if ppl love something , they should be willing to go to any lengths for it..

my responsibility is to provide a platform and i am doing it till it lasts

It was good to see more people in the salsa nite yesterday but still the turn out was not as good as it used to be (thats what i felt, not sure about others)..i found a lot of regular faces missing...
As Anand said, if people dont show up, he will be forced to end these and Im sure none of us would want it...
