Re: shoes!
dancing shoes plays an importtant role infact ur shoes will define ur posture and ur body style to certain extent.i remember wearing very high heels while learning and wht i got at d end was just aching foot. i wud advice all d girls to wear proper footwear while dancing. make sure heels are not too high and u get proper back support. when u r buying heels for salsa make sure they r not very thin or it wud b difficult to balance.
you can purchase special shoes for dancing from the shop in bandra.
the shop is called shoe biz its on linking road... u ll get good variety in a reasonable price range

Re: shoes!
I'm not the best person to comment on this...but to follow up on what Ashwini mentioned, i guess 2-2.25 inches would be the ideal heel height for womens footwear....also strong (preferably wider) front straps are also important for women to ensure ur feet don't clonk while dancing.
Guys usually stroll in class wearing their office shoes... Keep your dancing shoes separate to keep them dry and maintain the smoothness of the sole. No PVC or rubber soles....preferably use shoes with either leather, resin or suede soles...also guys please don't wear chunky boots, keep it as light as possible

Salsa Shoes
Absoutely true.... the price is Rs.750.
Last week, I gave my pair to replace the tips and when I went to collect them the next day, they were mistakenly given to another Salsera............... ofcourse, got them back eventually. Surely, their shoes are in demand. Their address is below:

Re: shoes!
I was under the impression that for guys . black 'formals' were the right shoes .. with a bit of heel. However I notice Anand wears almost flat and softer shoes .. which are better?
the heels have an advantage as the girls bcome taller and we have to match them ... but after 2 hrs of dancing in hard formals ... the feet do take a beating..
