My two cents:

Watch the people dancing. It doesn't matter how experienced and flawlessly he/she is dancing.
You grab the styling part you like from them and apply!

Man can do the styling with foot-work, mostly. If you are adept in understanding the beat-pattern, you can fiddle with the beats within bar, do styling, and then re-sync with the music. For example, you do 123 naturally with music, stand-in place + Do styling stuff (567 123), and then back on 567 on next bar.

I also feel that one should regulary watch good salsa artists dance...
i have noticed that if you watch them regularly then unconciously you do adopt some of their styling in your own dance..
also you wont have to do any concious effort to copy the style.. over the time you will automatically dance like the artist you most admire.. and i think this is the best part of it.. you dont have to change your style .. but rather your own stlye evolves which is a blend of the styling of your favourite artist and your own style.. Ok , im no expert at salsa ... BUT

I feel styling is a girls domain ... the mans job is to make the woman look good and facilitate their moves by leading firmly , gently and considerately. Excess styling by men distracts and infact irritates... Thats why Anands style is so cool , he is subtle and understated , but smooth and elegant.
Girl ... You must put up a great show when the guy leads you well.
An example of excellent mans styling is Jigar .. hes smooth and doesnt distract.
Also I guess it matters whether the dance is a show or a dance with a friend in a club... for show , i guess, more style is better!

Doctor, agreed that styling is primarily the girls domain...but i just don't want to be a facilitator of dance for the girl....its a partner dance...shld look like ur dancing too....don't forget anyways no one is looking at the guy, its always the girl who gets all the attention...so guys will have to work doubly hard

Styling is merely being yourself, but with attitude. . The rest should just follow . .

And the more you watch people, the more you'll learn . .

DOn't stressed about it though .. Smile

Styling is nothing but GRACE in ones's body. And its not easy to aquire one until you put in tons and tons of practise and watch various videos.

If we try to stlye our moves in some stylish way in the start, the effort to put it into action will be more visible than the actual style we want to display and that looks v.funny

I wornt say avoid it completely,so that you dont look funny but when try to style your moves do it in private infornt of your mirror or with your dance partner.

Guys should have a soft syling pattern in them as it may misguide the girl for leads. ONLY PERFECT hardcore Salsa King and Queen can both add style to their moves at sametime coz more than keeping a styling pattern in mind they have one unique thing in them and thats TIMING and timing is v.important when both the partners want to add masala to their moves to make their audiance Zaappppeeed.

This is want I believe.....
